    Agility Competition Dogs

Monday nights from 6pm - Drills and practice suitable for Intermediate and up.

Saturday afternoons from 4pm - Practice courses

Agility commences for 2025 from 10th February.

  • Starting Agility Training

    Everyone has to start somewhere!

To train in agility, it is important that you have reasonable focus from and control of your dog, both on and off lead. New agility class members must do 8 weeks of Beginners Obedience OR be approved by an instructor, prior to commencing Beginners classes.

The basics of agility training include knowing the obstacles, knowing your dog's motivators, and being able to communicate with them. You will learn to show your dog how to navigate obstacles using your own body language and voice. You will also learn about motivation, reinforcement and controlling your dog's arousal while running the course.

Dogs may commence agility training at any age. However, we recommend that puppies avoid repetitive drills and jumping until fully grown. You should also make sure that your dog is healthy, and not overweight, to reduce the risk of injury.

Please be advised that Geraldton & Districts Kennel Club hold conformation shows, agility, jumping and obedience trials, etc. throughout the year. We ask that you observe the following guidelines during event weekends.

    • Roped off "rings" will be set up in one or both paddocks during these times.
    • Non-competing dogs are not to be allowed in these areas until the conclusion of the event.
    • Please observe the NO DOGS IN RING signs.
    • Do not allow your dogs to foul anywhere in the paddock, including during non-competing times.
    • Members of the public are most welcome to attend as spectators, but under no circumstances are dogs to be off lead.

We are very proud of our club precinct. We ask that you use it with care and always clean up after your dog. Thank you.
